It is my belief, that we as individuals, shouldn’t concern ourselves with feeding and clothing the world’s needy. That project should be dealt with by the nations. What we should concern ourselves with is the hungry and needy people in our own communities. Our own locals.
There are many local children who go to bed hungry every night. These same children also go to school without breakfast everyday. There are homeless people in our own local areas. I believe we should look after our own and the nations of the world can attend to the world.
It amazes me that every winter we have Christmas Daddies telethons, toy and clothing drives, family Christmas baskets filled with food and gifts.
Don’t these people realize that the ones in need would also like to eat in the Summer and the Spring and the Fall and not just once a year? Yes, we have our churches, our food banks and etc., etc., etc.
Why don’t you, personally do something? Usually the most needy will also have the most pride. Sometimes, local stores put comforters on sale for $10 each. Buy 10 and give them to your local shelter. Sometimes, stores will have bulk packages of macaroni and cheese and juice packs. Buy 20 of each and give to your local food bank.
In the summer, buy towels and in the winter buy hats and mittens. During spring and fall, buy cakes of soap and stockings in bulk. Give these to your local food bank, they will know who needs them. Whenever you have extra funds, give to both the local food bank and the local shelter.
Give all year round – not just at Christmas time. That $20 that isn’t much good to you can buy a treat for 10 children.
Get involved in helping out your own locals. Get your Church and your schools involved and all of your neighbors.
If we all strive to look after our own and leave the world to the nations of the world, then we will see a huge difference. Don’t worry about the people half-way across the world. Look in your own town or city.

I apologizes for jumping into your blog out of nowhere. But I just love the way you think. Because I think we share the same thoughts.
Please keep writing what you are writing as it will help people to realized the needs for those homeless in their own community. Although, I don’t focus on all groups of homeless, and only focus on young children. But my main goal and purpose is exactly the same. Building a place for children so that they can come and eat whenever they feel hungry and a place where they can call home if needed.
